Read the latest news from ILG schools and nurseries.

It has been an exciting start to the summer term at the Inspired Learning Group. Keep reading to find out about the latest events and achievements, and what our schools and nurseries have been up to over the last few weeks:

ILG Inter-School Maths Day

ILG’s first Inter-School Maths Day was recently held at Grange Park Prep School.

The Year 5 classes of Grange Park, Gidea Park Preparatory School, Buxlow Preparatory School, and St Christopher’s Preparatory School were in attendance for the day.

The day began with a range of problem-solving activities and investigations, with teams consisting of pupils mixed up from all 4 schools. After lunch, pupils returned to their school teams for a 40-question quiz on various mathematical topics.

Pupils had a great time working together, getting to know one another, and becoming close friends by the end of the morning activities!

Earth Day Activities

Our schools and nurseries did plenty to celebrate Earth Day, using the occasion to teach children the importance of looking after our planet.

At the Orchard Day Nursery Wimbledon, children crafted photo frames out of recycled egg cartons and participated in many activities such as planting watermelon seeds in the garden.

Pupils at Buxlow Preparatory School dressed up in blue and green to commemorate the day. They focused on sustainability throughout the day, avoiding using electricity, picking up litter, and recycling, to take responsibility in making the school an eco-friendly environment.

Eid Celebrations

St Nicholas Nursery hosted a wonderful event for their children and parents to celebrate Eid. Children participated in a series of performances for their parents, and the nursery was specially decorated for the occasion.

Children of the nursery also made artwork to celebrate, creating Eid-themed cards to give to their parents.

Swim England Achievement

Year 9 pupil Leo, at Rookwood School, recently competed at Swim England Southeast Regional Championships. Leo previously earned his place to compete at regional level after placing 5th in Hampshire County.

Following his fantastic performance throughout the competition, Leo came 24th in the Southeast Region. Congratulations to Leo for his outstanding achievements!

ISA Digital Art Competition Win

Congratulations to Year 6 pupil Isabelle at The Study School, for winning Independent Schools Association (ISA) Digital Art Competition!

Isabelle placed first in the Key Stage 2 category, with her drawing titled ‘Mac the Dog’. Her art went up against entries from over 600 schools who entered the competition. Well done to Isabelle for her impressive displays of artistic skill and creativity.

Malawi Fundraiser

Miss King, Headmistress of Westbury House School, and Mrs Ganji, School Administrator, have don a sponsored skydive on the 1st of May  to fundraise an additional £2000 towards ILG’s Malawi fund.

Proceeds will go towards desks for the school children of ILG’s partner school, The Msalura School, in Malawi,  as well as contributing to the gifted girls programme, which enables girls to continue their secondary school education.

The target goal of £2000 has now been surpassed. If you would like to donate to the cause, find the JustGiving page here.
