About the role
Working under the direction of the Headteacher, you will play a vital role in the strategic development of the school’s Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision and oversight of the day-to-day operation of that policy with the aim of raising SEN pupil achievement.  Indeed, we will rely on you to put provision in place to ensure that progress of pupils with SEN improves relative to those without SEN.  Ensure that the school carries out its statutory responsibilities regarding all students with an education, health and care plans (EHCP) and monitor progress towards targets.

You will also support the School in Teaching and Learning, leading and managing staff, advising Learning Support Assistants, provide regular SEN information to the Headteacher and/or Governing Body when required, coordinate Annual Reviews and/or EHCPs and chairing when necessary.

About you
To succeed, you will need to be QTS Status or degree equivalent qualified and recognised National Qualification for SENCOs.  You will also need varied experience of teaching and learning across the primary age range, experience of Inclusion or SEND, you will have lead workshops and chaired meetings and INSET, you will also have successfully lead or managed a team.  Your knowledge will cover relevant SEN Code of Practice and Pupil Premium legislation and interventions. You will possess a proven track record of teaching.
